Hi Guys, Aisling here again talking all things beauty and skincare. As you all know I have been simply obsessing over the multitude of benefits that the dermaroller has to offer. If you’re new to this blog, the dermaroller is at home micro needling device. It promotes the production of collagen and elastin. These are the proteins that our bodies naturally produce. They slow down from the age of 25 on wards as the ageing process begins. The treatment has an added benefit of reducing blackheads. I am going to explore exactly how it does it in this latest blog, “Dermarolling Blackheads.”
I started using a dermaroller for the results it can generate in keeping collagen and elastin production at an all time high but was pleasantly surprised to discover my blackheads were significantly reduced. Turned to a trust worthy source in understanding the science behind why this occurs. I of course turned to Havana Skin Clinic.
Havana Skin Clinic’s Take
One of the main purposes of treatment is to generate new collagen and skin tissue for smoother, firmer, more toned skin. Through generating new, rejuvenated skin, we remove the existing black heads and tighten the open pores to prevent them from reappearing.Taken directly from Havana Skin Clinic’s Blog.
They also went onto explain how blackheads form in the first place which I found to be particularly interesting as I always thought that they just formed from dirt in the atmosphere.
How Blackheads are Born
Normally, hair grows from hair follicles in the pores, and the sebum-producing sebaceous glands lie underneath. When these pores are plugged, the dead skin cells in the open pore react with oxygen in the air and turn black, forming a blackhead.

I never even thought that my blackheads bothered me but after noticing their significant reduction, I realised that they must of been bothering me in my subconscious. It’s now one of my favourite benefits of using the roller along side reducing the appearance of acne scarring.
As always guys, if you missed my last blog, Head Over and Catch It Now! It looks at how to increase our lip size naturally.
