Hi Guys, Aisling here again taking a closer look at the dermaroller downtime. For those of you who are new to my blog, welcome! Just to explain, the dermaroller is an at home micro needling device. Micro needling for those of you who have been living under a rock, is collagen induction therapy. By puncturing the skin, our bodies natural healing ability kicks in thus resulting in over all skin rejuvenation.
I got so caught up on talking about the multitude of benefits, I bi-passed a very important factor. I never truly explained the down time associated with this roller. As always, i turned to my ever so reliable source, Havana Skin Clinic.
In Havana’s blog, they’re mainly looking at your skincare routine for before, during and after treatment which plays a huge role in your downtime as it’s of the utmost importance that you get the products and approach to treatment right. If you used the wrong products or rolled the dermaroller over your skin incorrectly, you may have longer down time. This would unfortunately be down to damage caused. This is something no one understandably wants to do. Click on the link above highlighted in blue that reads “Havana Skin Clinic”. Before you use your dermaroller, you should know how to use it and what to use with it.
Moving onto the downtime, here’s what they had to say:
The total downtime is really in the hours following treatment. You will experience redness and inflammation. The following day, there will be maximum patches of slight redness but nothing to get too excited about.Taken directly from Havana Skin Clinic’s website.
